Not Even Sure What Day It Is

 Hey everyone,

As I sit here writing this post for today, it is hard for me to remember what day it is.  We are go go go or hurry up and wait.

Yesterday, we went to the rainforest/zoo/waterfall extravaganza called, La Paz.  We had an hour long drive winding through the busy streets of Costa Rica and winding up the side of a mountain in order to get our destination.  Along the way we saw coffee fields and one of Starbucks locations where they grow their Costa Rican Blend. At La Paz, We walked around and saw the most amazing flowers, butterflies, hummingbirds, big wild cats, big exotic birds and more.  The highlight of La Paz is the nearly...I don't know...400, probably more, damp slippery steps we went up and down to see 7 of the most beautiful waterfalls you have ever seen in your life.  It was just flat out awesome and at times we were so close to the waterfalls that we could touch them or get wet from them.  They are hundreds of feet tall.

That took up most of our day.  We went back to the hotel and changed and then had a worship night at the church and sung praises to Jesus...in Spanish.  Some songs we recognized and some we didn't.  There were adults, teens, little kids, and even babies.  It really stretched our kids comfort zones and they got to see that all peoples praise the Lord and that all languages will be praising God one day together.

Today, we had our first day of VBS with about 60 kids ages 3-14.  We played games, made crafts, sang songs, danced, at food, taught a verse to them in Spanish and much more.  We had translators and Costa Rican helpers who were such a blessing.  EVE GREENWOOD did an awesome job teaching the lesson using a translator.  She had to deal with a microphone that didn't work, loud loud kids, stifling humidity and doing something that is the greatest fear of all people...public speaking.  I can't say enough.  All the kids did excellent leading their different areas and communicating with kids with love, hand motions, and their best Spanish...haha.  Monday, Ben Starr teaches the lesson.  Pray that he does an awesome job as well.  The other kids say that its in his genes so he will do fine. :)

Tonight, Tammy and I led a night for married couples.  We had about 30 or more people so about 15 couples or so.  It was great and we were served a wonderful dinner followed by desserts made by a few of our teen girls.  The teenagers babysat some kids, cleaned up, and were very patient.  I think they know that Pastor Brett can be long winded.  haha.  What a blessing.  Everyone was so nice and we repeated a Marriage Matters event we did at New Life called Pieces, if any of you remember it.

Okay, I know everyone wants pictures, so I'll post a bunch.
